Main entrance to the Pfizer Tabletting Plant
We provided a wide range of services for the Pfizer Tabletting
Plant in Ringaskiddy, including quantity surveying, permitting
issues, site development, architectural, building services,
structural and civil design engineering for both the Tabletting and
CB2 building and its associated structures.
This state-of-the-art facility for oral dosage preparation
comprises of clean manufacturing areas, utility and support areas,
warehousing and office facilities and has a total floor area - over
four floors - of 28,000m². The building an unbraced steel frame for
maximum flexibility and as its located in a highly sensitive area
in Cork Harbour, the building is designed to maximise value for the
occupants and to integrate with the landscape.
The development includes substantial earthworks and underground
services together with a major upgrade of the waste water treatment
facility, plus:
- The four-storey Tabletting building includes 23,000m² of
warehouse and manufacturing areas containing 9000m² of clean room,
and 5,000m² office, laboratory etc. This building is steel framed
and is clad with coated steel architectural panels and glazed
curtain walling
- The four-storey CB2 building for the bulk manufacturing is also
steel framed and incorporates blast relief panels in the external
cladding.
The Pfizer Tabletting Plant won the ACEI award for structural
excellence.
